St Andrew’s United Reformed Church
St. Andrew’s URC is part of the United Reformed Church, which was formed in the UK when Presbyterians, Congregationalists and Churches of Christ joined together in an ecumenical spirit of unity in 1972 to create a new denomination. In its mission to serve Christ, the URC is characterised by a spirit of openness and diversity in theological perspectives, a commitment to mission at home and abroad, a representative structure of governance, and a thoughtful approach to scripture. Our beliefs are reflected in historic creeds of the worldwide Christian Church such as the Apostles’ Creed, our denominational Basis of Union, and our own congregation’s mission statement.
There are opportunities to serve and learn at St. Andrew’s. Coffee mornings and cake sales benefit special mission projects of the church. Bible Studies are offered on various themes throughout the year. The building is available for the use of various organisations, including Careers Springboard, which meets each Monday evening. The church supports numerous mission and charitable organisations. We welcome new ideas and energy in serving the local and international community and strengthening our commitment to Jesus Christ.
